Ryan Murphy Team Pitches In To Bring Shoppers Out During Construction

If you live in Calgary and have tried to drive or walk down 17th Ave S.W. this summer, you will have seen it: construction. The City of Calgary is working to make road repairs on 17th Ave S.W., making much needed improvements to this popular Calgary street. Lane and sidewalk closures due to the construction have caused a reduction in traffic, affecting local business.

To combat this, the City partnered with local businesses, the BRZ and and communities to sponsor a “backyard party” behind the shops on 17th Ave, between 4th and 5th Streets S.W over two weekends in September.

The Ryan Murphy Team pitched in to help set up for the party, donating their time over the course of two weeks to help set-up and take down the event.

“I’ve found in Calgary in general, people are more than willing to lend a hand and support one another. It’s always inspiring.” Lara Murphy, Co-Founder, Ryan Murphy Construction

The Ryan Murphy team kept warm by laying astro turf, setting up crates and plants, and unloading trucks, pitching in wherever help was needed.

The event will last two weekends, September 22-24 and September 29-October 1. To learn about the events, visit this page. Come on out, watch some football, and support local businesses in Calgary.
