Vin Room

RMC had the opportunity to work within Calgary Airport’s new international terminal while building the third Vin Room establishment. The 75-seat, locally owned restaurant is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, which are made with regional ingredients, and it remains open until the last flight departs. Offering up to 80 different wines sold by the glass, the Vin Room won the Airport Wine Bar of the Year at the 2019 Food and Beverage Awards. 

We created a space of golden décor and glass walls that displays over 3,000 wine bottles, with a communal table in the middle of the room, seats at the bar and low tables throughout. It is designed with comforts for the traveller in mind, such as individual plug-ins, USB ports and ample space to store carry-on luggage. There is even a dog-friendly patio and snacks. Some of the project’s unique logistical challenges included coordinating shipments, supplies, high security, and personnel access, but our relationship with the owner made the process efficient.
